Don’t you know how I want you You should know more than that Hold it now, don’t be afraid Got a lot more time just thought I’d say I love it when you hold my hand I love it when you take command Know that I’m in high demand But know that you’re my only man I love it how you know my mind I love it how you take the time Know that you’re my holy land Now know that you’re my only man Now you see how I feel You’re my type of surreal Hold it now, don’t be afraid No rush, just trust me, thought I’d say I love it when you hold my hand I love it when you take command Know that I’m in high demand But know that you’re my only man I love it how you know my mind I love it how you take the time Know that you’re my holy land Now know that you’re my only man I love it when you hold my hand I love it when you take command Know that I’m in high demand But know that you’re my only man

Falling Up 04:13
We had made plans for that Friday the 12th, you know you couldn’t show had to let go Made your escape all alone in your New York cocoon left us too soon to start anew Looking back nobody asked your emptiness was growing gave away all you had to fade with no one knowing Nobody asked Can’t take it back Falling through space in an uncharted place alone had to get home freedom to roam Stumbling through stairwells and pictures of people you knew memories turned blue took hold of you Looking back nobody asked your emptiness was growing gave away all you had to fade with no one knowing and I don’t know what I could say to make you feel okay gave away all you had to fade away It’s the end It’s the start breaking ground Falling up speeding star breaking sound It’s the end It’s the start you’re unbound

I like to stay home Working on myself Dust off all the pieces Got lying on the shelf Pick up on the work Left from generations time The weight it gets so heavy Always tired trying But I’m trying I’m trying Just how it goes gotta trust the flow But it’s hard Thinking isn't enough Gotta get that grind But when it comes down to it The motion’s in my mind Trying to find the balance Of out and within The magic of the daily Gets me restless so I climb within You know what I want Stop running away Stop running away But it’s hard But it’s hard You know what I want Stop running away Stop running away But it’s hard But it’s hard

Break 04:00
I can’t really let you go Don’t you understand Lying on the floor With one hand on my chest Each step is heavy now Can’t walk so fast Keeping busy making plans I didn’t even consider this I don’t believe in running I don’t believe in running Away I’ll call you up to say goodnight From my own bed You must really want to feel it The surprise again It’s black in here I focus on each small task Take my time brewing coffee Hope the space will bring you back I don’t believe in running I don’t believe in running I don’t believe in running I don’t believe in running Away

about

In Anew, I honor deep love and friendship while holding up lost love and life in my other palm.

Emi Trevena and I started this project with the thought of making just one song, “Thought I’d Say”. I quickly asked Emi if he’d be up for making a full EP together. We jumped into “Falling Up”- Emi had sent me the song as a guitar piece before, and I knew I wanted to write to it in tribute to a dear friend who had suddenly passed. From there we wrote 4 more songs together, totaling 6 songs. This EP holds our 4 favorites. All vocals were recorded by myself in my Brooklyn bedroom, and Emi and I got to collaborate via video call for every song. It really felt like each song was charged with the immediacy of the moment- they definitely had to come out of us into the world.
